Did You Know: Where the Term Tennis Bracelet Comes From

Did you know where the term "tennis bracelet" comes from? It's not often that a piece of jewelry is named after an accident, but such is the case with tennis bracelets.
Tennis bracelets got their name from an incident involving former No. 1 woman tennis player, Chris Evert. During a U.S. Open Match in 1987, Chris was wearing an in-line diamond bracelet, when the clasp accidentally snapped open. Chris asked officials to stop the match until her bracelet could be found. The situation sparked a new name for this particular type of diamond bracelet, not to mention a huge jewelry trend.

Today, the diamond tennis bracelet is a classic piece of jewelry known for its streamlined elegance and versatility--it can be worn on the tennis courts or for a formal occasion. If you're looking for a tennis bracelet, there are many different styles to choose from, from classic to modern. For example, this traditional tennis bracelet, featuring round brilliant white diamonds in a half-bezel 18k white gold setting, is a piece you’ll wear again and again.
For a modern update on the tennis bracelet, try these white, black, and champagne flexible diamond bracelets. Wear them stacked together or one at a time for a pop of sparkle, color, and a stylish twist to the classic tennis bracelet look.

If you like the idea of adding a bit of sparkle to your everyday or weekend look, but are looking for something more understated, these braided silk cord bracelets embellished with a dazzling diamond bead add effortless polish to any ensemble.

Because diamonds play so well together, you can also mix and match a flexible bracelet with a braided one for a fun and chic layered look.
If you're looking for a unique bracelet to add a touch of sparkle, color, or visual interest to your wrist, please give us a call--we'd be happy to help! You can reach us at 212-888-4188, or send us an email at leslie@lesliebermaninc.com.

Spring Fever: Stone Spotlight on Emeralds

This month's stone spotlight is on the emerald, the birthstone of May, and the precious stone designated for celebrating 20th wedding anniversaries.

The stone's vivid green color, which is caused by the presence of the minerals chromium and vanadium, makes it the perfect spring thing. One of the most legendary emeralds is the Mogul Emerald, which is thought to be one of the largest emeralds in the world.

The rectangular cut stone, which dates back to 1695, weighs 217.80 carats and is about 10 cm high. One side is inscribed with Islamic prayers and the other is engraved with opulent flower ornaments. The emerald is thought to have come from the reign of Emperor Aurangzeb, the last of the great Mogul rulers, who controlled much of India. In 2002, the Mogul Emerald was purchased by an anonymous bidder for $2.2 million!
Jacqueline Kennedy may have had the most famous emerald engagement ring. The iconic first lady loved emeralds, and wore them all her life. Her engagement ring from then-Senator Kennedy featured an emerald-cut emerald stone, originally set with a matching emerald-cut white diamond. Jacqueline later had the ring redesigned so that the emerald was surrounded by smaller round and marquis-cut diamonds. For their tenth wedding anniversary President Kennedy presented Jacqueline with an emerald eternity band, which she reportedly wore the rest of her life, even after her second marriage.

Another iconic emerald is the emerald and diamond broach Richard Burton gave Elizabeth Taylor as an engagement present. Later, she would wear it as a pendant on an emerald necklace that Burton gave her as a wedding present.

If you have Elizabeth Taylor's taste for emeralds, we know you'll love this stunning emerald and diamond ring by Leslie Berman.
This exquisite ring features a stunning emerald-cut emerald center stone and two round brilliant diamonds. Set in platinum, the saturated, vivid green color of the emerald is beautifully set off by the white diamonds. It is truly one of a kind.
If you're interested in this ring, or a custom emerald design, please don't hesitate to contact us! You can reach us at 212-888-4188, or at leslie@lesliebermaninc.com.

Everyone's buzzing about the newest celebrity engagement ring on the block--Angelina Jolie's:
Designed by long time partner, Brad Pitt, the sparkler is said to feature more than 10 carats of emerald cut diamonds set in a band of yellow gold.
The couple once insisted they wouldn't wed until same-sex marriage legislation passed in America, but Pitt recently admitted he didn't feel they'd be to wait that long because of mounting pressure from their six children.
If you like the look of Jolie's ring, you'll love our stunning emerald cut diamond ring set in platinum:

Like Jolie's, this engagement ring features a gorgeous emerald cut diamond center stone, flanked by beautiful, emerald cut side stones. If you're interested in a band that is similar to the actress's, we've executed this design many times throughout the years with graduated emerald cut stones that encircle the figure.
If you're interested in a custom design, or any of our diamond rings, please don't hesitate to give us a call at 212-888-4188.

The Story Behind Titanic's Heart of the Ocean Blue Diamond

As you know, sapphires and blue diamonds have had a banner year. As James Cameron's blockbuster film Titanic returns to the big screen in 3D, another fantastic blue stone is poised to re-take the media spotlight: the Heart of the Ocean.
Fictional and fantastic, the iconic Heart of the Ocean is of course the deep blue diamond given to the film's character, Rose Dewitt Bukater, by her bullying fiancé, Cal Hockley, as the ultimate engagement gift.

The Heart of the Ocean pendant was fictionalized as a rare, heart-shaped, blue diamond that was cut from an even larger gem originally worn by Louis XVI. This provenance is in fact a nod to the Hope Diamond, a real-life blue diamond that has been described as "the most famous diamond in the world."
Blue diamonds like the Hope Diamond are so rare that they only make up about .1% of all diamonds. The beautiful, deep blue color actually comes from boron impurities within the stone. It is the absorption spectrum of boron that causes these gems to absorb red, orange, and yellow light, lending the diamonds their intense blue-gray color.
Given the scarcity of this kind of diamond, producers turned to a look-alike gemstone--a sapphire--to create the amazing accessory for the film. A 170-carat heart-shaped Ceylon sapphire, surrounded by a row of 65 round diamonds totaling 36 carats, made up the large and breathtaking piece that Rose wore throughout the movie.

Historically, there really was a blue sapphire necklace on the Titanic. It was given to RMS Titanic passenger Kate Florence Phillips by her married lover, Samuel Morley, as the pair fled to America to make a new life for themselves. Morley perished in the sinking, and it is believed that this tragic love story was the inspiration for the plot of Cameron's film.
If you are looking for an inspirational piece of your own, we have lots of fabulous suggestions! For example, this stunning stack of diamond and sapphire eternity bands is one of our most popular looks.

Please give us a call for more suggestions. Or, if you have a special piece in mind we are always thrilled to help execute your vision! You can reach us at 212-888-4188, or send us an email at colleen@lesliebermaninc.com. We look forward to hearing from you!

Spring Cleaning for Your Jewelry Wardrobe

Now is the perfect time of year to do some spring cleaning--for both your clothing and your jewelry wardrobe. And did you know your old jewelry is worth its weight in gold?
We invite you to bring in any unwanted gold jewelry to exchange for new pieces from Leslie Berman. If you have any unwanted pieces we are happy to trade them in and offer you either cash or a credit worth the value of your gold--whatever your preference. Your credit can be redeemed at any time so use it now or save it for a future occasion.

Need some helping figuring out what to keep and what not to keep? Here are our top five tips for cleaning out your jewelry closet:
1. Start small Looking at necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and rings all at once can be overwhelming. Try reviewing only one section of your jewelry drawer at a time.
2. Make Yes, No, and Maybe Piles This gives you time to think about your decisions.
3. The One Year Rule This well-known rule for your clothing wardrobe applies to your jewelry too; if you have an "everyday" piece you haven't worn in a year, think about getting rid of it.
4. Keep Sentimental Items There should always be a place in your drawer for items that make you happy, even if you rarely ware them.
5. Organize and Day-Dream A closet clean-out is the perfect time to sort your items in a new way, identify any "holes" in your jewelry wardrobe, and day-dream about new pieces. On LeslieBermanInc.com you can create your own Wishlist or use our "send to a friend" feature to give someone you love a hint.
As always, please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions. You can reach us at leslie@lesliebermaninc, or 212-888-4188.

Stone Spotlight: Beyonce's Gigantic Sapphire Push Present

You may have already seen pictures of Beyonce's new ring--a gigantic sapphire in a pave halo setting. Though the new mom hasn't made any official announcements yet, the press is speculating that Jay Z gifted his wife with this spectacular blue bling as a "Push Present" in honor of their daughter, Blue Ivy.

Sapphires have have received a lot of buzz this year, beginning with Kate Middleton's royal blue sapphire engagement ring:

We think these two ladies demonstrate the versatility and beauty of sapphires perfectly--both classic and contemporary, sapphires are always stunning, which makes them a unique, eye-catching option for either an engagement or cocktail ring.
If you're a fan of sapphires, here are some of our own favorite pieces:
This gorgeous cushion shaped sapphire and diamond ring set in platinum is an absolute knock-out to rival Beyonce's, with a piercing deep blue center sapphire weighing over 8 carats and dazzling side diamonds totaling over 1.6 carats.

Another way to make a statement with sapphires is with this stacked eternity ring look. Mixing and matching with white diamonds and various sized stones creates a personalized look that really pops.

Why let your fingers have all the fun? Enjoy sapphires on your wrist with this sapphire and diamond bracelet set in platinum. The alternating pattern of beautiful emerald cut sapphires and classic baguette diamonds makes the bracelet an elegant piece for any occasion.

Diamond Studs Rock the Red Carpet at the Golden Globes

If you were watching the Golden Globes last night, you probably couldn't help but notice that diamond studs dominated the red carpet.
South African-born actress, Charlize Theron, lit up the red carpet with a vintage diamond head band, classic diamond stud earrings and a pear-shaped diamond ring, which complimented her soft makeup and dusty rose Dior Couture gown.

Theron's look couldn't have been more different from Best Foreign Film nominee Angelina Jolie, who brought out the big guns with her giant red lips and even more giant 25 carat diamond stud earrings to match her dramatic Atelier Versace gown.

Actress Claire Danes mixed it up a bit by sporting square diamond studs, while Evan Rachel Woods wore her studs accented with black enamel and set in yellow gold instead of platinum.
No matter the size, shape, or setting, diamond stud earrings can round out your jewelry wardrobe nicely. As the Golden Globe actresses illustrate, diamond studs can be personalized to your own individual style, and they are incredibly versatile, transitioning easily from day to night and from casual to dressy. May we suggest a few of our favorite designs:

The beauty of round brilliant diamond stud earrings is particularly timeless when set simply in platinum. We tailor this design to the price point you're comfortable with. The round brilliant shape is flattering on everyone and sophisticated and full of fire with or without a micropave halo setting.

If you already own the classic round stud, a square cut diamond stud can be a great alternative to add to your earring rotation. A bit sportier, these square cut studs are still distinctive and delicate and, like the round shape, can be worn everyday or for a special occassion. Another fabulous alternative to your go-to round diamond studs is this exquisite clover design.
Whether you're sweeping your hair back for a black tie event or throwing on jeans and a sweater, these diamond stud options will add polish to any look.

The Legacy of Liz Taylor

Elizabeth Taylor's legendary jewelry collection has recently broken world records; so far Christie's auction of the collection has brought in over $116 million, setting a world record for a single collection.
Taylor's historic and rare 50-carat "La Peregrina" pearl, once part of the crown jewels of Spain, sold for nearly $12 million on its own. The Krupp diamond ring, one of the crown jewels of Taylor's own collection, sold for almost $9 million to a private Asian buyer.

The 33.19-carat Krupp ring is iconic, and experts have rated it potentially flawless. "Elizabeth referred to (the stone) as steps into eternity," Brett Sherlock, vice president of the Christie's Toronto office reported. "There's no nitrogen in this stone at all," he said, comparing the legendary diamond to "a drop of Fiji water." Worn almost daily by the actress for over 40 years, the diamond was a gift from the man Taylor married twice, actor Richard Burton, who reportedly purchased it for $37,000 in 1968.
Burton wasn't the only one who presented Taylor with beautiful jewelry. A bride eight times, many of Taylor's seven husbands showered her with gems. Film producer Mike Todd, husband number three, gave Taylor a tiara that she famously wore to the 1957 Oscars. As Taylor noted in her 2002 book, "My Love Affair with Jewelry," Todd presented her with the tiara, saying, "You are my Queen."

Besides wearing it on the red carpet, Taylor would reportedly wear the tiara while swimming laps at the chateau she and Todd shared in the south of France, as she liked to see her own crowned reflection when she stepped out of the pool. The antique tiara, which experts date to the 1880s, sold yesterday for $4.2 million, about six times the presale estimate.
If you haven't snapped up that perfect holiday gift yet, the auctions will continue tomorrow, when Taylor's haute couture, including the dresses she wore from her two weddings to Burton, will be sold. Sale proceeds will go to the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation and Taylor's private trust.

In a statement on Wednesday, the actress' son Chris Wilding said his mother would have been pleased with the auction. "She would be happy to know that her wish for her jewelry to be owned and enjoyed by others was fulfilled," Wilding said.
Indeed, Taylor herself expressed similar sentiments in her final interview in March's Harper's Bazar. She stated, "I never planned to acquire a lot of jewels or a lot of husbands...I have been supremely lucky in my life in that I have known great love, and of course, I am the temporary custodian of some incredible and beautiful things."

Our Favorite Black Diamond Pieces for Black Friday

Dear Friends,
Happy Thanksgiving! We hope that you all had a happy and healthy holiday!
In honor of Black Friday we're excited to spotlight our favorite black diamond pieces today. Because black diamonds are an eye-catching, inexpensive alternative to traditional white diamonds, they've been a hot trend in jewelry this year. But as far as we're concerned, they are as classic as can be. After all, black diamonds have that special kind of black magic that makes you think of Chanel, Audrey and Jackie. These style icons knew it before everyone else; black is chic and classy, sexy and elegant, all at once. If you're looking for a standout, classic, beautiful piece of jewelry this Holiday season, all we can say is black is the new black!
These dramatic black and white diamond link earrings are absolutely dripping in over 8.5 carats of glittering pave diamonds. The contrast of white and black has incredible impact, making these the perfect piece for a black tie event or a special evening out.

Luminous South Sea pearls really pop when paired with striking and elegant black and white pave diamonds, but this two-in-one piece is twice as nice. Wear the white diamond huggies to brunch, then add the pearl pendants to dinner and the theatre. Since these earrings transition effortlessly from day to evening they'll quickly become your go-to finishing accessory.

These incredible black diamond slice earrings are one of the most unique pieces we've ever created. Featuring actual faceted black diamond slices that total 7.20 carats, they are framed in white diamonds and topped with black and white round brilliant diamonds for a truly show-stopping look.

If you haven't seen them yet, our fabulous black diamond eternity rings are making a huge splash. Pair these black diamond bands with your own rings to convey your own unique, signature style. They play well with lots of other colored stones and metals, from champagne diamonds to rose gold. I especially love the high impact, dramatic effect of white and black stacked eternity rings; the contast has an Old Hollywood glamour and makes the black and white diamonds really pop. You'll see me sporting these with my own wedding band for a chic, modern, yet timeless look.

Think Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are thrilled to spotlight the work of a new company, called bffl (best friends for life). Through the efforts of its founder, our friend radiation oncologist Dr. Elizabeth Chabner Thompson, bffl seeks to provide support and comfort to women recovering from breast cancer treatment. After undergoing prophylactic mastectomies herself to reduce her risk of developing breast cancer due to her strong family history, Dr. Thompson was inspired by her experience as both a doctor and a patient to create a hospital bag for women going into the hospital for surgery or chemotherapy treatments. The cute bffl duffle includes all the overnight necessities a woman could want--from playing cards to eyecream. One of our favorite goodies in the duffle is the bffl Axilla Pilla, which is a heart shaped pillow that fits under the arm to ease discomfort by taking pressure off the area where lymph nodes are frequently sampled during treatment. The bag retails for $99, with 15% of the profits going to Cancer1Source. So, when you purchase the bag you join the fight against breast cancer while treating yourself (or your mother, aunt, or friend) to something special.

Speaking of treating yourself or a woman you love, consider "thinking pink" with your jewelry this month, to both remind women to be breast aware for earlier detection, and express moral support for the amazing women around us who are fighting breast cancer or are breast cancer survivors. Our top five favorite pink pieces include:
5. Pink tourmaline, diamond, and fresh water pearl pendant earrings

These ladylike earrings combine classic pearls with high impact pink tourmaline for a playful yet elegant mix.
4. Tahitian Keshi pearl and pink tourmaline earclips in 18k yellow gold

Pink tourmalines makes this floral design, featuring Tahitian Keshi pearls set in 18k yellow gold, ultra sweet and feminine.
3. Pink tourmaline, amethyst briolette and diamond pendant earrings set in 18k white and yellow gold

Sparkly and eye-catching, these pink tourmaline, diamond, and amethyst briolette earrings have a one-of-a-kind, vintage feel.
2. Pink Sapphire and Diamond Eternity Band

Gorgeously vibrant pink sapphires add glamour to the traditional diamond eternity band. Wear one alone, or mix and match with other diamond bands.

Our favorite pink piece is this Tamara Comolli Flamenco Romance bracelet, featuring rainbow moonstone, pink chalcedony, rose quartz, and morganite. The bracelet's delicate, luminous shades of pink work with any skin tone. Set in luxe 18k rose gold, this bracelet will dress up your wrist.

On our Radar: Stacked Rings

As the softness of spring and heat of summer begin to give way to chilly fall, cozy layers are dominating everyone's autumn wardrobe. So, what's the jewelry equivalent? Stacking! As the weather turns colder, this trend is taking over. We are really loving stacked rings, especially eternity rings. As a traditional wedding band option, elegant diamond eternity rings take on a stylish edginess when paired with gemstones of other shapes and colors. Stack a few together and you have a look that works with everything in your closet--from a tee, sweater, and cargos to your best little black dress. Here are a few of our favorite combinations from some of our new fall pieces:

These stacked colored gemstone rings will add a pop of color and sparkle to any outfit. Mix in a band of rose gold and pink diamonds for the a touch of romance. Pair these rings with pencil thin trousers and a chunky sweater now and then with a filmy top and flirty skirt for the warmer months. The pave setting on the left and slim line of the channel setting on the right give the stacks a delicate, feminine feel that will work well throughout the year.

Pink and blue sapphires play well with white diamonds in these two stacks. Beside the alternating color, we love the mix of different textures; both add visual interest and create a bold, glamorous look. You can wear these rings with everything from an evening gown to a jean. With such versatility, who could resist these beautiful stacks of sparkle?

Diamonds are a girl's best friend, and as far as stacked rings are concerned they don't get any friendlier than this glittering stack featuring white diamond eternity bands in four different shapes. If you're looking for a sophisticated, high impact look this is for you.

Did You Know: The History of the Engagement Ring

Have you ever wondered how the diamond engagement ring began?
Some say the tradition dates back to the medieval era when Pope Innocent III instituted a mandatory waiting period between a couple's engagement and marriage. At the time, only wealthy nobles could afford precious stones, so the ring usually comprised of metal like iron, silver, or gold; which isn't to say these rings couldn't be elaborately beautiful:

The magnificent piece above is a gold Medieval engagement ring with a bezel composed of openwork Gothic tracery, capped by a facetted steeple. Made in the early fourteenth century, it is believed to be one of few existing medieval wedding rings. The ring features a beautifully crafted, ornate, miniature version of a gothic tower and six engraved Hebrew letters that spell out mazal tov, on the tower's roof.

The first recorded diamond engagement ring to make the history books was given in 1477 by the Archduke Maximilian of Hamburg to his bride-to-be, Mary of Burgundy. Although we don't have a picture of the ring, we know that the couple was happily married. Perhaps this is one reason why the fashion of giving a diamond ring caught on quickly among royalty and other people of great wealth during the Renaissance.

It wasn't until the eighteenth century, when the discovery of vast diamond deposits in South America brought the price of diamonds down significantly, that the diamond engagement ring became available to a large number of people. Fast forward to the 1940s, when De Beers can be celebrated for introducing us to the diamond solitaire as part of a successful advertising campaign, which more than doubled diamond sales in a three-year period. In 1947, female copywriter Frances Gerety coined the well-known phrase, "A Diamond is Forever." Gerety's line conveyed the message that the diamond is synonymous with eternity and therefore, the definitive and ideal jewel to use to seal our endless love. Over the next 20 years the symbol was solidified and by 1965, 80% of women wore a diamond engagement ring.

Nowadays, the options are endless. While a white diamond is always a classic option, couples are increasingly including colored diamonds or gemstones as a way to personalize a ring. For example, one of the latest trends is to use a woman's birth stone as the center gem. Earlier this year Jessica Simpson debuted a ruby engagement ring, and just this week Tara Reid tweeted an image of her new engagement ring, featuring a 12 carat yellow citrine.

We believe that what makes a beautiful ring is not just the stone but the setting. After all, you want to leave people saying, "What a beautiful ring you have," not just, "what a beautiful diamond."Beyond that, it's the thought and meaning behind an engagement ring that truly makes it special. An engagement ring may be a statement about fashion and taste, but in the end, it is so much more as a symbol of love and marriage.

Did You Know: How Oxidized Metal is Taking the Jewelry Industry by Storm

Black is back! This year blackened, oxidized metals are taking the jewelry industry by storm.
What is oxidation? It's a finishing process that gives metal a beautiful polish that can range from a rich, darkened patina to a clean, sleek glossiness. We love how oxidized metals have a fresh, bold appeal that really make gemstones pop. In particular, we love the way oxidatized metal amps up the classic diamond hoop. Set in oxidized silver or gold, diamonds stand out brilliantly. Here are a few examples of new designs featuring oxidized gold and silver--we hope you enjoy!
The white diamonds in these graceful, small oxidized hoop earrings seem to float in an endless circle. Set in oxidized white gold, these hoops bring an edgy style to jeans yet are elegant enough to wear with a little black dress.

Oxidized gold gives these larger cognac diamond hoops a chic, sophisticated allure. We love the juztaposition of the sleek, darkened metal with the warm, exotic feel of the cognac diamonds--it creates a spectacular statement. At 1 1/2" diameter, these earrings pack a big punch while still being lightweight, comfortable, and easy to wear.
Finally, for a fresh and current two-tone look, we combined white and black diamonds set in 18k oxidized gold. The blackened metal compliments both colors of diamonds and gives the stones a beautiful, scintillating intensity. Look to these earrings for an accessory that has both polish and flare.

By providing a finish that's perfect for showcasing diamonds--from white to cognac to black--it's no wonder oxidized settings are enjoying tremendous popularity in the jewelry industry. If you have any questions about our hoops featuring this finish, or if you're interested in designing a customized piece set in an oxidized precious metal, send us an email or give us a call at 212-888-4188. We look forward to hearing from you!

Kate Middleton Wears Princess Diana's Earrings (And We Have Them!)

Fashion blogs are buzzing about Duchess Catherine's new, yet familiar jewelry! She already wears Princess Diana’s sapphire and diamond engagement ring. Now it is being reported that Prince William has given his new bride several other pieces of jewelry that were beloved by his late mother, Princess Diana. "Now that they're married, William wanted her to have some of his mother's favorite pieces," reports The Daily Mail.
On the final day of the Royal couple's recent North American Tour, Kate was photographed wearing a pair of Princess Diana's sapphire and diamond earrings. Part of a suite of sapphire pieces designed to match her engagement ring, the earrings were originally given to Diana as a wedding present by the Saudi crown prince (to see a photo of the complete set, check out this blog post). Believed to be her most prized set of jewels, Diana wore these pieces frequently before her death in 1997.
Kate's elegant style has earned her accolades and inevitably led the fashion world to compare her to Princess Diana. However, the new Duchess has managed to navigate her new position with grace and confidence, and these earrings are yet another example of her ability to forge her own path while honoring William's mother.
Ever the fashionista, Kate opted to put a modern twist on Diana's studs by having them remodeled into pendant earrings. We love this move; making the large studs into drop earrings gives this classic design a delicate and feminine feel that is fresh and contemporary. But maybe we're biased; we've offered this design for years!
Check out our classic sapphire and diamond pendant earrings, below--it's as if Kate bought her earrings at Leslie Berman Inc.:

Just as Diana had an unerring sense of style that influenced a generation of women, it seems that Duchess Kate is destined to be a style icon in her own right. We're proud to offer earrings that two amazing women have worn so well!

The Push Presents We'd Pick for Jewel, Victoria Beckham, and Kate Hudson

The Stork's been busy in Tinseltown! This week three Hollywood moms welcomed babies--singer Jewel and her husband Ty Murray welcomed a son, Kase; former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham and her husband David welcomed daughter Harper Seven; and actress Kate Hudson and fiance Matt Bellamy welcomed son Bingham.
So, what can these moms expect beside their new additions?--an addition to their jewelry box. That's right, moms in Hollywood--and across the country--have added "giving birth" to the list of gift-giving occasions with Push Presents. Frequently a special piece of jewelry, a push present--also known as a "Baby Bauble"--is given to a mom to honor her new (or continued) important role as a mother, to celebrate the birth of a couple's child, and to signify the growth of their family. Recently, Rachel Zoe was the latest celebrity mom to raise the bar on Hollywood Push Present Standards when she received a 10 carat Neil Lane diamond ring from her husband to mark the birth of their first child:

So what Push Presents would we pick for Hollywood's three new moms? For singer Jewel, who favors a bohemian chic style, these Tamara Comolli diamond earrings are a perfect fit:

Offering a striking, stylish twist on the classic chandelier earring, they're the right combination of casual luxury for Jewel. Featuring Tamara Comolli's signature "Forbidden Paradise" leaf design, the earrings are playful, elegant, and romantic. And, best of all, the sparkling diamonds would complement the new mom's radiant face and smile!
For style icon Victoria Beckham, who makes a baby bump look sleek and sexy, these cognac diamond slice earrings, the epitome of fashion-forward glamour, are the perfect push present:

We think the rich brilliance of the Cognac diamond slices would look great with Victoria's coloring. Framed with twinkling, smaller champagne diamonds, the sophisticated design is a great fit for this fashionista who's known for her minimalist yet elegant style. Though Victoria is known for her famous "pout" we think this Push Present would bring a smile to her face!
Finally, for actress Kate Hudson, who favors styles that are feminine yet free-spirited, we picked these rose cut diamond pendant earrings:

The rose cut diamonds in these earrings bring a sense of Old World elegance and charm to any outfit, so Kate can pair them with a simple sheath or wear them on the red carpet. The classic and chic flower design will never go out of style, so someday Kate could pass down this Push Present to a daughter, daughter-in-law, or granddaughter.
If you're thinking about surprising a mom in your life with a Push Present, we believe that you don't need to drop a bundle to celebrate the arrival of a bundle of joy! Instead, it's the sentiment of the design and the meaningful occasion that makes this piece of jewelry significant. We've been thrilled to help dads and couples create custom designs that honor mom and their new child, while incorporating symbols of dad and older siblings. If you have any questions about the design process, or you're interested in selecting a Push Present from our inventory, please don't hesitate to contact us. We'd be happy to help however we can!
